Step one: send the details and photos
Use the quote form or email us directly. Tell us the metal, size, voltage, conductor count and approximate quantity, and add photos of the reel faces, cable tags, jacket printing and the full pile.
Photos matter more than a perfect description. A reel tag answers the size and voltage question, and the jacket print answers the insulation and rating question.
-
Tell us what you have
Metal, size, voltage, conductor count, footage or reel count, condition and packaging, plus photos.
-
We review the inventory
We read the tags, check the constructions and decide what we can take and what we cannot.
-
We discuss pricing and logistics
You get a number and the access questions: dock, forklift, hours, restrictions.
-
Pickup or shipping when we agree
We schedule the truck, load it, and handle the freight from there.
Step two: we review the inventory
Review is not a formality. Some lots are straightforward: sealed reels with legible tags and known footage. Others need a closer look: mixed racks, missing labels, sun-faded jackets, partial reels with no recorded length.
We will tell you what we can take, what we cannot, and why. If a load needs sorting before it is worth moving, we will say so rather than offer a number that does not hold up on the dock.
Step three: pricing and logistics
What we agree before a pickup
- Price
- Based on type, size, condition, quantity and current metal markets
- Scope
- Which items are included and which stay with you
- Access
- Dock, forklift, ground level, elevator, gate hours
- Vehicle
- Flatbed, box truck or van depending on the load
- Timing
- The window that works for your operation
- Paperwork
- Removal documentation for your records
Condition and quantity drive the number more than anything else. A sealed reel of 4/0 XHHW is a different lot from a sun-faded partial reel of the same size, and the quote reflects that.
Step four: pickup or shipping
Most Minnesota loads are picked up. We bring the truck, the blocking and the labor, and we load the material at the agreed location.
Smaller lots that are easy to palletize can be shipped by freight instead. Tell us the weight and dimensions and we will confirm the arrangement before anything moves.
Sending details and photos is not a commitment to sell. There is no charge for a quote and no obligation to accept an offer.
What makes a quote slow
Missing footage, unreadable tags, no photos of the actual pile, and unclear ownership. Those are all fixable with one more message, which is faster than a site visit.
FAQ
Questions we get from sellers
How fast is a quote?
Most lots are reviewed the same business day when the details and photos are complete. Mixed loads with missing labels take longer because there is more to identify.
Do I need to prepare or sort the wire first?
No. Photos tell us whether sorting is worth doing, and it is usually cheaper to quote the load as it sits.
Is there a fee for a quote or a pickup?
No fee for a quote. Pickup is part of the agreement we reach on the material.
