What we buy
- Bare copper, solid and stranded, including grounding and bonding conductor
- Insulated copper conductors in building wire, control and flexible constructions
- Green insulated grounding wire and bare copper ground
- Welding cable, #6 through 4/0, in coils and partial reels
- Hook-up wire, appliance wire and lead wire
- Tinned, plated and specialty copper conductor
- Spools, coils, reels and loose inventory
Why the form matters
Bare bright copper with no insulation, corrosion or attachments is the cleanest grade. Insulated copper carries the cost of stripping or processing. Welding cable is fine-stranded and flexible, which makes it a specific product rather than generic scrap. Tinned conductor is worth quoting on its own because the coating changes the recovery.
Send a photo of each distinct form rather than one wide shot of the pile. A mixed gaylord looks like one thing from across the room and five things up close.

Mixed copper loads are quoted line by line. Attachments and contamination change the value.
Grounding and bonding conductor
Bare and green insulated grounding conductor is often left over in large quantities after a service upgrade: 2/0 bare, #6 green, #4 bare, and short tails from every panel.
It is a normal part of a Minnesota contractor's surplus, and we buy it alongside the rest of the load rather than treating it as an afterthought.
Preparation and pickup
You do not need to strip, sort or clean anything before we talk. Photos tell us what the load is and whether sorting is worth doing.
If the material is in drums, gaylords or on pallets, say so and confirm forklift access. If it is loose in a trailer or a bin, that is workable too, but the pickup takes longer.
FAQ
Questions we get from sellers
Do you buy stripped copper?
Yes, bare bright and stripped copper are quoted on weight and cleanliness. Photograph a representative sample and give the approximate total weight.
Do you buy copper with lugs or terminations attached?
Yes, but the attachments affect the quote. A photo of a cut end with a lug still on it tells us what processing the lot needs.
Is burned or corroded copper accepted?
It can be quoted, but it is a different grade. Describe the condition honestly and photograph it; burned insulation and heavy oxidation are not the same as clean bright copper.
